It's been a while since we had an update.
Is there a way to update the firmware if you don't have an SD card reader besides the Victor Stream itself?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that. But I bet you could find out more by going to humanware's website.
Cool. Thanks.
About upgrading the software if the only card reader you have is the Stream its self. I have not tried this, but there is no reason it should not work. Simply connect your Stream to the computer as you normally would to put a book or music on the card. Unzip the file and put it at the root of the card. Disconnect the Stream. Power off the stream. Plug the Stream into the wall. Power it back on. This should start the upgrade process.
Good luck!
Scott
Thanks so much for the info.
yes, upgrading the stream this way does work. I helped someone with it recently, and all went well.
i use my printer's card reader to put the update in
Hi All,
I too was wondering why that hadn't and when the next version would be out, guess 4.0 will be a long way off, but glad to hear of 3.1, I'll deal with it on mine soon!
I have a small query, and again, if noone knows, I'll find out from Humanware, but, as well the main updates, my Victor Reader, says something about an update is available for the "TTS Speech engine", has anyone else found this? If yes, how do I update this TTS speech engine! If I sound confused, I am indeed confused! Normally I am OK to put it mildly with computers or devices! :)
Hope to hear any ideas, they will be most appreciated indeed! LOL
Kind regards,
